Adultery is expensive

“The Price and prevention of adultery”

Proverbs 5:1-23

1.       It will cost you your wealth!

- Solomon speaks to his children to stay away from all immoral women – Pr5:7-8
- His first reason is “Lest you give your honor to others…” Pr 5:9
- He repeats “Lest aliens be filled with your wealth, and your labors go to the house of a foreigner” Pr5:10
- Child maintenance / support can affect your finances drastically.

2.       Itwill cost you your physical health!

- Solomon’s second reason is “….and your years to the cruel one” – Pr5:9
- He also says “And you mourn at last when your flesh and body are consumed” – Pr5:11
Bacterial infections (Chlamydia, syphilis, gonorrhea) are often brought on by any wicked behavior.
 - Viral infections (genital herpes, hepatitis B, AIDS) are incurable diseases.
 - Sexually transmitted diseases will eat away your body from the inside out.

3.       It will cost you mental health!

- A person will be filled with wrong doings “How I hated instructions and my heart despised correction. I did not obey the instructions / voice of my teachers when they taught me, nor inclined my ear to those who instructed me.” Pr5:12-13
- A person will never forget what their parents, teachers, preachers and true friends told them.
- As a person recalls the violent effects of divorce on their spouse (and their children who will likely suffer the worst) they will berate their stupidity. Mal2:16
- A person’s conscience will eat away at their peace of mind.

4.    It will cost you your reputation!

- As it is written “I was on the verge of total ruin, in the midst of the assembly and congregation” Pr 5:14
- Human beings don’t take it very lightly, the sin of adultery. Pr 6:37-35
 - Can one person be trusted who would lie to their spouse?
- Your unfaithfulness will eat away at your reputation.

Adultery destroys a person’s wealth, body, soul and reputation. Forgiveness is possible (1Co6:9-11), but many affects of adultery continue throughout a person’s life. Much better for one to take to heart.

5.       THE PREVENTION OF ADULTERY EASY

- Rejoice with your wife of your youth, be enraptured by her love. Pr5:15-19
- Husbands, love your wives as Christ loved the church. Ep5:25,28
- Wives, learn to love your husbands. Tit 2:3-4
- why be enraptured by the adulteress (adulterer) and seductress (seducer)? Pr5:20
- One’s true character is revealed by their immortality

6.       THE PRICE OF ADULTERY IS HIGH

- If they commit adultery with you, they are more likely to commit adultery against you with others.
 - To give intense love is a command, which means it can be learned (and relearned).



LOVE YOUR LORD JESUS CHRIST

The Lord is omniscient, and sins will have their effect. Pr5:21-23
                - He sees all. Pr15:3
              - God will judge fornicators and adulterers. He13:4
              - When one sins against the Lord, their sins will be exposed. Num 32:23

How must to love the Lord and be loyal to him
               - He looks for those loyal to him. 2Ch16:9; Mt 22:37
               - Joseph’s devotion to God prevented him from being tempted. Gen 39:7-10
               - The Lord blessed Joseph because of his faithfulness. Gen 39:21; 40:50-52
               - Those who love the Lord foremost, Love their spouse forever.

CONCLUSION

 
The price of adultery is terrible

-          Which to many learn to sad experience

-          Which all can avoid by heeding God’s word

The prevention of adultery is possible when our love is in the right place
-      Loving the Lord with all our heart

-          Loving our spouse with God’s blessing

Some verses from the bible that the Lord speaks about adultery

Mark 10:11 – And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her

Matthew 5:28 – But I say unto you, that whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her is already in his heart.

Revelation 2:22 – Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.

Proverbs 6:32 – But who commits adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul.

Leviticus 20:10 – And the man that commits adultery with another man’s wife, even he that commits adultery with his neighbor's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress  shall surely be put to death.

DO NOT DESTROY THE LIVES OF SO MANY WITH MISDIRECTED AFFECTION!!!!

Do you think to commit adultery is not serious? God says in his word that you MUST NOT do it. It is a sin. God’s word is more powerful than any other word spoken. Obey the word of God. Do all that is good.
Please understand the way that God meens this the right way. Why would you tell your child not to play with a knife?Is it because you hate them or is it because you love them and care about them?
God tells us not to do certain things because he only wants the best for us. Sin always disguises itself as fun and pleasure, biut it is surely a lie, because it has bad consequences. The Law of God is Low, and it cant be changed. And even when you think you have gotten away with it, remember, there is always consequenses to all our actions. Laws created by God, cant be changed, so when it looks like it has, you should know that satan the devil is deceiving you
